Mendez Marine run a full schedule of RYA training courses throughout the year. We provide courses for those wanting to ‘dip their toe’ into the power boating world, upskill and develop their knowledge or take advanced courses – for pleasure or commercial reasons.
What we offer
Our Courses
Whether you are new to boating or looking to expand your knowledge or experience we are here to help you all. Whatever RYA training course you choose to do with us, from a VHF course through to a Yachtmaster® course or even just some basic boating skills either on the water or shore based, you can be assured of receiving professional training in a fun and friendly environment and on high quality equipment.
RYA Powerboat
The RYA Powerboat Scheme is applicable to Sportsboats, RIBS, Dories, Launches, and other boats which do not normally provide accommodation or cooking facilities.
RYA Motor Cruising
The RYA Practical Motor Cruising courses range from a minimum of two days for the Helmsman’s course, four days for Day Skipper and five days for the Yachtmaster® Coastal, aboard either your own boat or on the school’s twin shaft Princess 368 motor cruiser.
RYA Online Courses
We realise that your time is valuable therefore to suit your needs and timetable we offer a comprehensive range of Online Courses. Why not try our online theory courses which cover Navigation, SRC Marine VHF Radio, Training and Safety as well as PPR

Classroom based theory navigation classes are a great way to learn the essential building blocks of successfully skippering a boat, be it sail or power

The RYA Support courses (usually 1 day) cover a range of different subjects designed to help your grow your knowledge in specialist areas.
