This RYA First Aid one-day course covers all the usual first aid subjects – including the H&S requirements (1981) for Emergency first aid at Work – but covers accidents and emergencies from a boating perspective as well.

It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross channel passages.

In a medical emergency a little first aid knowledge and immediate action can save lives, especially in remote locations. This one-day course is designed to provide a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft and to support skippers.  Where time allows some of the instruction will take place on a rib so you can experience managing emergencies in confined spaces.

You must have an in-date RYA First Aid Certificate for certain other RYA qualifications i.e. RYA Yachtmaste,  MCA endorsements and RYA Instructor qualifications.

The course is recommended by the MCA and HSE for professional skippers of small craft working within 60 miles of a safe haven, including Boatmaster.

First Aid courses will be held in our new spacious classroom facility at ‘Boatfolk’ Deacons marina, Swanwick, Bridge Road SO31 8AZ.

Don’t just look at the price when considering booking look at what we are offering.

Our course is Covid secure with maximum numbers reduced to 6:1 and each student given their own training equipment.
