Many students go straight on to Level 2, this is perfectly ok for beginners, but we would recommend an RYA Powerboat Level 1 as a natural start for the more hesitant. How can I take this course?
For the RYA Powerboat Level 1 course we train in our 5.5m Ribcraft rib ‘Kake’. Classroom work will be undertaken at the Mendez Marine office.

|Course content||Preparation: launching and recovery, safety equipment, pre-start checks, personal buoyancy. Boat handling and manoeuvres: starting and stopping, use of kill cord, steering controls, securing to a buoy, leaving and coming alongside, being towed. Theory and background: IRPCS, ropework, awareness of other water users.|
