We actively encourage clients to enjoy tuition on their own boat if they already have one.   We appreciate the investment you have made, so be it a Rib, Sports boat or even a 23 metre Fly Bridge Motor cruiser, our aim is to help you enjoy your boat by becoming more confident and safe.

Courses on your own boat offer an efficient way of including family and friends in all aspects of your boating. Whether you want to complete an RYA course or simply have a day to “brush” up on any particular aspects of handling your own boat. Wherever you are (the location does not matter as we can travel to you**), we can help you to build your confidence while learning more about your own vessel.

We can tailor refresher and/or upskilling days for you and your crew, be that family or friends.
You can practice:
• Safety drills such as Man Over Board recovery
• Picking up a mooring buoy
• Entering and exciting a lock
• Berthing at different marina’s in the area
• Anchoring
• Preparing and executing a longer passage
• how to use your electronic navigation equipment including Radar

Alternatively come and join our navigation / radar / electronic equipment introduction or refresher courses and then practice on your boat.

Remember: you need a licence to use your radio so don’t forget to book a VHF classroom or online course so you can take the exam for the licence.

We also are available for assisted passages where even more ‘in depth’ knowledge can be imparted or you need to move your boat from one Solent Marina to another in the Solent area.  Coaching and training given during the trip.

If you are new to the area or have not previously ventured too far from your home berth why not book one of our experienced Skippers to guide you on a familiarisation trip around the Solent – we can show you around the area, show you which Marinas to go to for pub lunches, how to navigate the Beaulieu River or the Bembridge Bar, visit the Needles, anchor in Osborne Bay, go shopping at Gun Wharf. . . . . .

Day Rate from £320.00 per day, which makes it great value.
*8 hours maximum.
**Travel costs for Instructors will be incurred if you boat is berthed outside of the Solent area.

Skipper for your boat
If you would like to sit back and relax for the day, you can book a skipper so you can enjoy your boat with your family or friends.  Go out to dinner somewhere like The Hut at Colwell Bay, or just a cruise around the Solent.  Price from £400 a day

Boat moving and Non-UK based Training
If you have just bought a new boat and want help to move her to the Solent Area, or move her to your home berth outside of this area, we can provide a skipper to take her for you or assist you to take her.  Fee from £400 per day + travel costs to get the skipper to / from the boats berth, unless you can take them.  Travel day is charged at £140 if it takes more than 3 hours to get to / from boat location. The client is responsible for instructor accommodation,  meals and snacks during the passage.

NB: Insurance for Boat Delivery is now only through the boat owners insurance.

We are happy to travel abroad to teach you, or run an RYA course, at a day rate of £400 per day.  Additional travel costs will be charged at cost.  Travel days will be charged at  £140 per day plus subsistence.  The client is responsible for instructor accommodation,  meals and snacks during the course / training.
