Skill Building and Experience Days

Mendez Marine are committed to the ongoing education and development of boaters skills, specifically the Motor Cruising and Powerboating fraternity. We understand that not all boaters seek formal qualifications via the RYA Motor Cruising or Powerboat schemes.

We have a range of ‘Skill Building & Experience days’ aimed at boaters looking to refresh or expand their existing theory and / or practical skills.

How can I take these courses?

• On our school boat on our timetables,
• On our school boat, in your group, you choose the dates.
• On your own boat, we come to you.

Please note these are non RYA Certificated Courses but can help you build the skills and experience to gain certificates on the RYA Powerboat or RYA Motor Cruising Schemes.

These ‘Skill Building & Experience Days’ are also ideal for prospective RYA Yachtmaster candidates who understand where their weaknesses are and would benefit from building experience and knowledge in areas such as boat handling, navigation, navigating at night and skippering a motorboat in general. The RYA Yachtmaster exam can test the candidates on any aspect of the RYA syllabus and it’s much better to go into the prep week having as much experience as possible. The Prep week is not intended to be a teaching week, its more an opportunity to polish existing skills.
