Mendez Marine Rib charter Group
Our new RIB charter group is aimed at those looking to enjoy more time on the water but don’t want to commit to boat ownership and the associated costs.
Required qualifications: RYA Powerboat Level 2 plus a VHF licence.*
If you think that you are likely to use the rib 3 or more times in the year then the club is a very cost effective way of getting out on the water
Discounted annual joining fee f- £600.
Daily charter £225 excluding fuel (fuel can be invoiced). ***
Mendez Marine RIB Group membership Includes:
Hassle free charters (subsequent to induction into the boat(s) on first charter):
- Turn up and go / tie up on return and go – No cleaning required.
- Included in the annual fee: half day upskill / refresher training or a place on a scheduled 2-day RYA Intermediate or Advanced powerboat course (subject to pre-requisites).

- Free use of Waterproofs
- Free use of Lifejackets

*If you would like to join the club but don’t have the minimum qualifications you can use your ‘free place’ to take the PB2 qualification.
***fuel consumption Swanwick Yarmouth and return is around 66 litres (currently £1.96 per litre)

One-off charter days
As long as you have the correct certificates, an RYA Powerboat Level 2 and an RYA VHF certificate (as a minimum), the Solent is there to be explored.
Bareboat charter can be used to improve your boat handling skills if you are working towards higher RYA Certification.
The ribs are coded for Commercial and Private charters and are fully equipped to a high standard.
If you trained at Mendez Marine you get our client preferential rates. £350 per day plus fuel.
If you didn’t train with us then the first 3 charters are charged at £450 per day plus fuel and you will have a slightly longer handover whilst we assess your Powerboat 2 skills are still current. If you charter 3 times in a 6-month period the Mendez rate will kick in on charter 4.
A security deposit of £1500 is required for insurance purposes, payable 24 hours before the start of the Charter.
Copies of certificates with proof of identity and address is required i.e. photo driving licence, passport and / or utility bill or similar, the first time you charter the RIB.
The security deposit is refunded within 72 hours of the charter less the cost of the fuel and any damage. A copy of the fuel receipt will be emailed to the main charterer.
The operating area is within the Solent between the forts at Portsmouth and The Needles. The day starts at 9am and the boat is to be back on her berth by 5pm latest (adjustments to time can be negotiated and may be subject to higher certification).
Due to Insurance restrictions the ribs are fitted with trackers and the navigation equipment must be set to Track route. Speeds in excess of 30 knots are NOT permitted and the vessel is uninsured for speeds over this rate. Charterers who exceed this limit will not be permitted to re-charter.
