Mendez Marine have teamed up with Andark Diving and Watersports to deliver the RYA Sea Survival Courses.
The RYA Sea Survival course is designed to provide the participant with a basic understanding of what to do in an emergency at sea.
It is not only EDUCATIONAL, but GREAT FUN and will raise your awareness of the value of being prepared in the event that unthinkable happens.
It is a well-proven fact that, in the event of an emergency at sea, people with training are more likely to survive.
This course is also a pre-requisite for those who are looking to gain their commercial endorsement to operate as a professional skipper.
The RYA Sea Survival course includes a practical session in an indoor swimming pool and students are encouraged to experience first-hand the problems of entering an inflated and uncooperative life raft while fully kitted out in waterproofs and an inflated life jacket.
|Minimum duration||1 day, 09:00 to 17:30|
You will need old clothing like a tracksuit etc (not jeans) to wear in the water, and a towel. You may bring your own waterproofs and footwear, but these must be clean.
If you have your own lifejacket then this might be a good time to test it. Re-arming kits can be purchased in the Andark shop.
The course is classroom and pool based requiring a degree physical ability, please contact us with any questions. Andark have their own swimming pool on site.
Please note all our RYA Sea survival courses are run in association with Andark Diving and Watersports at Andark Diving and Watersports Centre, Bridge Road, Swanwick, SO31 7FL. On booking the course through Mendez Marine your basic details i.e. name, address, contact number and date of birth will be passed to Andark for booking purposes.
Courses require a minimum of 4 and maximum of 16 people per instructor and can either take place on the dates in the course calendar, or at other times by arrangement, subject to availability of instructor and pool.
