This RYA Advanced Pilotage course is ideal for those who want to progress their night pilotage skills, but might not yet have the experience required for the Coastal Skipper course.
How can I take this course?
The RYA Advanced Pilotage course is held on our school boat, Fenland Dancer. She is a Princess 368 with a fly bridge and 2 x 300Hp Cummins engines on shafts. She has the latest Raymarine electronic equipment and her salon was refurbished summer 2019.
Any classroom work takes place in the Mendez Marine office or onboard Fenland Dancer.
|Pre-course experience||Boat handling to the standard of the Day Skipper practical course|
|Assumed knowledge||Theory knowledge to the standard of the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster™ Offshore shorebased course, a VHF/SRC certificate and first aid.|

|Course content||Passage planning, preparation for sea, pilotage, passage making and responsibility as a skipper (daylight hours), use of radar, boat handling, dealing with adverse weather conditions, dealing with emergency situations, night cruising.|
